Small breaks are beneficial for a few reasons. One, they get your blood flowing, which is always good for your body’s organs and tissues. Two, your mood improves! 1 Studies have shown that small exercise breaks can make you feel better. Third, it can help with your creativity! Changing your perspective, literally and figuratively, can help with your problem solving and get you out of a funk. 2
To make these kinds of changes easier, you can also make some improvements to your space to make movement easier. A standing desk is a great investment. It may not be the best when you need to type and write a lot, but maybe you take your meetings standing, especially the ones where you feel ready to fall asleep. Standing can help with energy and attention, making you more productive. 3
If you’re still sitting after reading all this, let’s get moving together! I know I need a break. Be back in 5 minutes!
